✨ The short version: almost any photo from your phone will work beautifully. Whether it's an iPhone or Android shot, most photos our customers upload turn out great as-is. And if anything needs a touch-up, our in-house 3D design team edits and enhances your photo by hand before engraving — no extra step for you, no need to be a photography expert.

If you'd like a few extra tips to get the most striking possible detail, here's what helps — but don't stress over getting it perfect. Just upload your favorite photo and we'll take it from there.

☀️ Good lighting helps

Bright, even lighting (daylight or a well-lit room) brings out the most detail. Very dark or heavily backlit photos can still work — our team will brighten and adjust as needed.

🔍 A clear, in-focus shot

Photos straight from a phone camera (not a screenshot) usually have plenty of detail. If a photo looks a little soft, let us know when you order and we'll do our best to enhance it.

🧍 Face and head fully in frame

Photos where the subject is facing forward with the top of the head visible tend to engrave the most beautifully — but our design team can often work around tricky crops too.

🐾 Pets welcome!

A clear, close-up shot of your pet's face is ideal, but any photo you love of them is a great place to start.
